Solar and Hydrogen Powered Noise and Dust Monitors

The remote location of the noise and dust monitors on this project required a power source to be installed.

Solar alone would not be sufficient to power them and a diesel generator used finite fossil fuels, therefore they combined a hydrogen cell with solar panels to provide enough power to run the monitors 24/7.

The hydrogen used can be created from a completely renewable source and therefore the whole system doesn’t require the use of finite resources such as fossil fuels.

The hydrogen generator also only produces the demanded power unlike a diesel generator therefore power is not wasted due to a diesel generator having a minimum idle power level that isn’t fully utilised.
